Black Kitchen Accessories Don’t Have To Be Spooky

Halloween is just a few days away and we are already jumping off the walls on a sugar rush. Is it just me, or is it impossible to not break into the Halloween candy a little too early? I surprisingly love this holiday, because it’s the first one to kick off my favorite season, fall. With the start of fall, comes plenty of rearranging and decorating to get your holiday décor and aesthetic just right. With that being said, this is the time of year when I get the most excited to make my black décor shine. Yes, you read that right! Black kitchen accents don’t have to be an item you fear anymore, especially during this time of the year. It’s the perfect time to try them out and balance them within your pre-existing décor for a different take on “spooky” and dark accents.

During this time of year, I am always looking for ways to repurpose all of the candy my house ingests and get it out as soon as possible! One of my favorite ways to do this is by taking whatever acceptable candy is leftover and baking it into a tasty treat. A couple of bags of chocolate candies can easily transition into a fresh, hot out of the oven cookie, in no time. Reinventing sweets makes them taste a little more guilt-free, if you ask me. Once I bake enough goodies, I pile them high on top of my Medium Brasserie Trivet and top it off with a Glass Dome or Cloche. I promise, you’ll be happier inviting guests over when they see a baked treat instead of piles of candy wrappers.

Another great benefit of incorporating black accessories into your décor, is how adaptable they are in a variety of spaces. I love how Folding Chair Design (@foldingchairdesign) used this Medium Black Mod Charcuterie Board to peek through the back of the other boards and give the space a slight pop of color. For me, having a charcuterie board on my countertop is a must. The ease of grabbing it whenever I have guests, to make up a quick cheese board is enough for me to consider it a kitchen essential.
